BOCF is a local, multi-cultural, Bible-believing Pentecostal church based in North-West London. BOCF is a member of the Apostolic Church in the UK & Eire and is the headquarters of the Edgware District. In the past, other churches in the district were in Hayes and Welwyn Garden City. BOCF belongs to the London Region which covers churches in London, Bedfordshire, Essex, Suffolk, Kent, Dorset and Sussex. Churches in the region operate in 4 clusters, each headed by an Apostle.
Burnt Oak Christian Fellowship began in the 1930s after some families moved from Wales to London. As members of the Apostolic Church, they decided to start a church in Burnt Oak. Originally they met in a rented Club off Watling Avenue, then built a church on the site where we are presently located in Oakleigh Avenue. The Church is led by the Pastors and a team of Elders. We also have a wider leadership team made up from the leaders of our various ministries. Many have moved from the Church into further areas of Christian ministry in the UK and throughout the world.
OUR PURPOSE is to make Jesus Christ known to the communities of Burnt Oak, so that people might find fullness of life, in readiness for His return.
OUR MISSION is to actively demonstrate God’s love to our communities, which He first showed to us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
OUR VISION is to build BOCF into a community of people who are in a loving relationship with the Father, disciples of Jesus Christ and who are continually filled with the Holy Spirit.
OUR BELIEFS can be found here.
Ade is married to Theresa and is a father of four. In Nigeria, he graduated with a BSc & an MSc in Agricultural Economics before moving to Aberdeen in 1990. Four years later, he was recognised as an Elder in the Apostolic church. After completing his PhD in Economics, Ade moved down to London in 1996 and became part of the eldership at BOCF later that year. In 2001 he was ordained as a Pastor and the following year, took up his posting in Manchester. Two years later, Ade returned to BOCF as Pastor and now has additional responsibilities as an Apostle. Ade has also sat on various Boards in the Apostolic Church, including Action Overseas.
David was ordained as a Pastor in August 2008 and has been a member of BOCF for over twenty-five years with his wife Sharon. Having moved from Crouch End to Burnt Oak in 1982, they felt led to find a local Church. On the very first occasion of attending BOCF, they encountered such a warmth and welcoming experience that BOCF became their spiritual home along with their two children. David is an After Sales Manager, working locally for an International car company and is also a trained Counsellor, serving alongside Pastor Ade and a team of elders.
